Differences between live and simulated trade bots

In the prior lesson you learned how to add these exchange accounts. Now we’ll explain a little bit more about the differences between the two.

Live Accounts

These are real accounts with real funds that rely on valid API keys connected to exchanges in order to execute trades on your behalf.

  • Non-custodial trading (HaasOnline cannot hold or withdraw assets)
  • Real accounts with real funds
  • Trades are executed on exchange

Simulated Accounts

Paper trading with a simulated account and fake wallets allows you to thoroughly test your trade bots with live order books. There’s no risk, however there’s no reward.

  • Zero risk, zero reward
  • Fake accounts with fake funds
  • No trades are executed on exchange
